M.L. Cohen included this glass negative in his box labeled "Airport 1928". In the 1920s, California had more airports than any other state. The Oakland Municipal Airport was seen as the gem of all of the California airports. This photo depicts six people, one man is in the background looking forward, another is cut off (we can only see half of his head), another man is standing behind the plane and behind another man. One woman and two men are the focus of the picture. One man behind the plane (which has the label "Aircraft Co." on its right side) is shaking hands with a woman in front of the plane. A man on the right side of this woman is posing for the camera.
