Fore 'n' Aft" was a magazine produced for employees/staff of Permanente Metals Corporation, Kaiser Company, Inc. and Kaiser Cargo, Inc., in Richmond, California, especially during World War II. The magazine (this one with an image of Adml. Chester Nimitz on the cover) was full of safety information, patriotic stories ("Told Hitler Off," "Our Second Front"), human interest stories ("Sports"), and in-house information about welders, "Tool Room - School Room," and the women who Christened ships at the yards. Mrs. Mary L. Chinn, donor, is one of the women pictured in this issue for having been the sponsor of the John E. Wilkie when it was launched on July 8, 1943.
