The Tribune clipping, dated Friday May 8, 1987, attached to the back of the photo reads "Margaret Block and great-grandson read the news." The news referred to is the sign posted on the glass doorway of a store in the Plaza. the sign reads "THIS STORE WILL CLOSE FOR LEASE REMODELING AT 10PM SAT MAY 2, 1987." A handwritten notation also on the back reads "Margaret Brock [sic] with greatgrandson Ramon-- find market closed--walked from 51st St." The word "market" suggests that the closure is of the Supermarket which was the key tenant in the Plaza.
