The protester is trying to protect himself by covering his head with his arms, curling into a ball, and rolling on the ground. The protester's black cowboy hat is lying in the middle of the street. Behind them two cars (one is a VW Bug) are parked along the street. On the back of second photograph (H98.1.970) a description is written in black felt pen.
