Caption on back reads: "Getting Ready for the Stones: Crews worked through the night by floodlight to put up the 10 steel towers for the sound system at the Rolling Stones concert...." The concert, called the Altamont Festival, was held at the Altamont Speedway in the hills near Livermore. The concert promoters had hired a group of Hells Angels as guards, but the concert turned into a melee, and one man was stabbed to death in an encounter with a guard.
