An aerial view showing the airport in the process of expansion, downtown Oakland, and the Oakland Hills behind it. A typewritten notation on the back of the photo reads "This is the site of the $17,500,000 Port of Oakland expansion of Metropolitan Oakland International Airport. The view shows the sand fill in place, reclaining 600 acres of underwater land, the 10,000 feet runway and parallel taxiway and the terminal building, parking lot and hangar site. The expansion area is connected to the existing airport by taxiways and roadways.
