Photograph mounted on cardboard; very early example of interior flash photography; shows room in Victorian house at 10th and Clay Streets in Oakland. Grouped around the dining table are three women and four men; one man is reading a document. The table is spread with a meal, tea maybe, that includes a bowl of fruit and items on individual plates. The house was owned by Samuel Francis Rodolph, a doctor. He came overland to California with his parents in 1852 at the age of 11. He was a doctor in Woodland and then in Oakland. He was the founder and first president of the Alameda Homeopathic Society. On the back is written: "10th and Clay Sts. Aunt Addie and Dad and ??
