The area described here lies south of the Foley Tract and the Hays & Caperton Tract, and runs from Park St. on the west to Versailles St. on the east along the San Francisco Bay. The marsh land area, tinted blue on the map, is comprised of approximately 17 1/2 acres. The Hays & Caperton Tract is included in the "Tract List" compiled by Quentin and is dated at 1872; the Foley tract is not in the Quentin list. The notes are on official Alameda County Surveyor's Office stationery even though Mr. Boardman no longer held that post. The word "county" has been lined through.
