The typewritten notation affixed to the back of the photo reads "Picture taken at the rear of the old Port of Oakland office at 17 Street and Broadway in 1909." A posed group of 4-5 rows of almost identically attired men is standing in front of wall/fence. Behind the wall/fence there is a building with a blank back wall except for three round wents [?] at the lower right portion of the wall. This could be a group picture of Port employees.
