Depiction: A very large crowd of people fills a Berkeley street. It is ngihttime and some people are carrying torches. A couple carry flags. they are marhcing in protest of the People's Park. Photo caption reads: Torchlight Protest. Protestors, some carrying torches and flags, marched down Telegraph Ave in a protest parade which was supposed to pass People's Park, three blocks south of campus. Police in flak jackets kept the crowd moving and dispersed it gradually. The torches were ruled a fire hazard and police methodically had them extinguished.
