Clipping on the back of the photograph [H96.1.805A], "Mar. 24, 1950--This is Tribune Photographer Bill Crouch's prize-winning picture, 'Whoosh!' The photograph of a small plane just missing a bomber during last fall's Oakland Air Show was one of two by Tribune photographers named as best-of-show in annual competition sponsored by Encyclopaedia Britannica and University of Missouri journalism school." Photo shows a by-plane upside down a short distance away from a military bomber. Photograph won the pulitzer prize.
