The Tribune photo, dated June 13, 1948, has the following caption on the back: "A jump across the estuary landed 'Doc' [?] in Alameda; he says this was a view of Park avenue [street] at about the same time the other pictures [not included] were made." The view is looking down the center of Park St. on which there is a single set of streetcar tracks, above which is a set of catenary trolley wires. On both sides of the street horses and carriages are parked at the curb. Parenthetically, a man is wielding a broom halfway down the block, cleaning up after the horses. Both sides of the street have one- two- and three-story commercial buildings; a barber shop at left is the only identifiable one. Further down the street one of the buildings has a steeple on it. A massive-five [?] story building on the right side of the street may be a bank or civic building.
