Handwritten on the back, "ground breaking ceremonies, Feb. 15, 1928. J.R. Knowland speaking." The photo is taken from behind a large crowd. Dozens of people, with their backs to the camera, watch as J.R. Knowland gives a speech, standing on a flag draped stage. Three men to the right are standing on a small stage. It looks like they have tripods, and they may be photographing the event. Behind the big stage there are three large buildings visible, two residential houses and many automobiles in a lot called, "Jack's Auto Parking" Originally part of large photo album, #40 [not original number but in original order.]
