This is a map of part of Plot 69 of Kellersberger's Survey of the Ranchos of Vicente and Domingo Peralta, surveyed January 26, 1877, for J. L. Barker and C.A. Bailey. This tract is bounded on the west by Shattuck Ave., on the north by Dwight Way, on the east by Fulton St., and on the south by Parker St. Blake St. is the east-west street passing through the tract. "The lots are for sale on very easy terms by the Real Estate Union, cor. of University and Shattuck Avenues, Berkeley. Or of James L. Barker, 408 Market St., San Francisco, or Chas. A. Bailey, 1165 Jackson St., Oakland." The Berkeley Branch of the Northern Railway runs along Shattuck Ave. The "Tract List" compiled by Quentin dates this tract at 1877. Steele Tract
