Next to him on the table is a corncob and behind are stacked bags. Below the image is "Mendez" in large red letters. On the left is "Leopoldo Mendez (1902-970) Mexican Printmaker/ Oct 20-Nov 1, 1974 Galleria de Raza 2851 24th St, SF w-Sun 12-5." [Mendez was an important printmaker from Mexico's Taller de Grafica Popular. This homage exhibition poster using a self-portrait woodcut by Mendez and designed by Garcia shows the link from old to new Latino printmakers. -LMC]
