Original envelope read, "Democratic National Convention- 1920." Negative shows three men standing side-by-side posing for the photo. The first man on the right is wearing a checkered suit and a wide brimmed hat. The man in the middle is wearing a stripped suit and a wide brimmed hat. And the man on the left is wearing a suit with a cap. The three men are probably delegates to the convention. The 1920 Democratic National Convention was held in San Francisco June 28 at the urging of President Woodrow Wilson. The party pledged ratification of the Treaty of Versailles and supported the League of Nations. The nominee was Governor James M. Cox of Ohio and Franklin D. Roosevelt, then assistant secretary of the navy, for vice-president. The Republican nominee was Warren G. Harding, who went on to win the election.
