Content description:
Per the notation on the back of the photo, the women posed at a costume party are Mrs. Howard Buell as Mrs. Charles Dana Gibson and Mrs. William Engs as Empress Eugenie. [It is not clear which one is which JM 8/28/2000] Each are attired in sateen [?], floo length gowns. The woman at left holds a lorgnette and a reticule in her hands, and her dress comes to her neck. The gown worn by the woman at right leaves her shoulders bare. They are psoed in front of a wood paneled wall.
