Tribune caption on the back, April 18, 1959-- "ANNIVERSARY- Just 53 years ago this morning the great San Francisco earthquake rocked the Bay Area and shook the bricks and mortar from the dome of the City Hall." Photo shows San Francisco's city hall following the 1906 earthquake. The bottom floors of the building appear to be more or less in tack but the dome is exposed- the bricks have fallen away to expose the steel and wood supports holding the dome up. The very top portion of the dome is still in tact. Two statues in front of the building are still standing. A few people are sitting and standing on the sidewalk in front of the building. A team of horse is just coming into the photo on the right side.
