Women of the Ku Klux Klan marching on the main street in downtown Richmondin full Klan dress carrying a sign that reads "KIGY KALIF. Women of the Ku Klux Klann". 3/21/95: Women lead 3,000 fellow members of the Ku Klux Klan in the Veterans Circus and Pageant of Progress parade in Richmond in July 4, 1924. The Klan was unwelcome in other East Bay Cities. The Klan was an invited participant in the city's annual Veterans' Circus and Pageant of Progress. The Klan first brought its message of hate to California after World War I. In May 1921, local African Americans got word of the KKK's intent to organize in the East Bay. The term "Hollywood" removed from the Argus Category field for CSpace cleanup. The category term was possibly related to exhibition planning (DAP, 1/5/2014).
