Photo is a copy print, probably from an original negative, which shows a group of five men standing in the remains of a building which was ruined in the 1906 earthquake and the resulting fire. Bricks, morter, and twisted pieces of steel litter the ground around the men. The buildings in the background are in various stage of destruction. Four of the men are dressed in some type of uniform, possibly they are from the Army Core of Engineers. The fifth man is wearing a short cape over his uniform, small round eyeglasses, and a wide brimmed hat. A piece of paper glued to the back of the print says "Army taking charge of dynamiting S.F. buildings after earthquake.
