Tribune caption on the back, March 13, 1955, "At left are the first, second and third place winners in Oakland's third annual Children's Doll Show held yesterday in the Oakland Auditorium Arena. At the microphone is Grant Mainland, Oakland Recreation Department supervisor, who served as master of ceremonies. Some 7,000 persons viewed the event. A total of 750 dolls were entered in the competition. Another 600 were exhibited by the East Bay Unit of the United Federation of Doll Clubs. Forty-eight youngsters received the award certificates. (See story on Page 29.)" Photo shows all of the winners of the show posing together on the stage at the Auditorium. Almost all of the children are girls although there are a few boys in the group. They are all holding their dolls in their arms and their awards. Racially mixed group.
