A: Dress of brocaded white cotton, clamp dyed in blue by California wearable artist, Marian Clayden in 1984. The dress has long sleeves, with a stitched turned back cuff and a scoop neckline. The gathered skirt is stitched to the bodice. It was purchased at Papillon, a boutique located in the Stanford Shopping Mall, Palo Alto, on Friday, June 29, 1984. Papillon was a small store which closed sometime in the late 1980's. B: Vest slips over the head, is a white pile weave, clamp dyed in blue (to match tones of dress), with a scoop neck and no sleeves. Black "Clayden" label at the nape of the neck of the dress and the vest.
