Original description is "The situation is as bad as it ever was here. No water, no toilets -150 farmers from II states camped in the brush... The work has not yet started- the wages for those who do not get work will be 35 cents/hr... Edison is a new potato area, 3000 additional acres under cultivation this year for the first time. / (DL added this in 1948) ...They say it is just as bad this year- except the wages are better."
