The Tribune photo, dated August 11, 1947, has the following caption on the back: "John Sofilos (left) of 179 Madrid Street, San Francisco, and Don Hollfelder, of 1727 East 23rd Street, Oakland, won Standard OIl Company scholarships for schools of their own choosing in model airplane contests at Oakland Exposition Building [Auditorium] grounds yesterday under sponsorhsip of Oakland Junior Chamber of Commerce and Exchange Club." Each of the boys holds a trophy in the crook of his arm, while Don holds the certificate for John to see. The Auditorium is in the backgound between the boys.
