Tribune captions on the back, October 6, 1948: "Manager Casey Stengel- mightiest of all the Oaks- waves his cap and shouts back to the crowd which gave him a hero's reception as he rode in a parade in downtown Oakland yesterday to celebrate the baseball team's first Coast League pennant in 21 years.- Tribune photo." Oct. 19, 1967- "Baseball and Casey Stengel were king in Oakland in 1948. The colorful manager brought the Oaks their first pennant in 21 years." April 14, 1968: "Baseball and Casey Stengel were king in Oakland in 1948. The colorful manager brought the Oaks their first pennant in 21 years." Sep. 30, 1975: "Casey Stengel waves to crowd from motocade after Oaks win '48 flag." Photo shows Stengel sitting in the of a convertible. He is wearing his uniform and waving his hat in the air.
