Envelope reads "August Vollmer 3-10-40." Date probably date used. Photograph shows the side of a dock or pier. A man stands on steps leading down into the water weraing a sleeveless shirt, shorts, and a bathing cap. Presumably Vollmer, he stands facing up the stairs. To the right of Vollmer a boy can be seen about to dive into the water. To the extreme left of the frame the back of a man can be seen. A row of feet can be seen running accross the upper left corner of the frame where people stood on the pier above.
