Content description:
Series of four photographs (H99.1.616, H99.1.617, H99.1.618, H99.1.619) that must have been taped together at some point to reproduce in the Tribune [they all have tape still attached to the edges on the back]. A caption that accompanied the series was pasted on the backs of the photos and a portion of the caption stuck to each photo. When layed together the caption reads as follows, October 14, 1967- "Oakland Oaks' basketball coach Bruce Hale was a study in emotion as he directed his team in its inaugural ABA win last night over the Anaheim Amigos. From left, Bruce rubs eye as he concentrates on strategy. He's intense as he watches critical play. Then its a shouted order from the bench and a pained roar when a call is against his team. The Oaks won 134-129." Also on the back of this photo, Tribune caption, July 22, 1970- "Bruce Hale, Oakland needs a classic." Photo is a head shot of Hale from about the middle of the chest. He is wearing a suit and appears to be talking. Original Tribune envelope: "Hale, Bruce- Basketball Coach
