The Tribune photo, dated March 1, 1958, has the following caption on the back "FLAME QUENCHER--The new MB-1 fire truck, throwing spray from double-barreled nozzles, is demonstrated at Metropolitan Oakland International Airport. The 17-ton truck has been added to fire fighting equipment and can shoot streams as high as 180 feet."Two fire fighters are on the roof of the enclosed-body truck, shooting water at a small training fire on the ground, while three other firefighters look on.
