Written in the bottom left corner of the negative, "Paramount Theatre Oakland. Cal. Miller & Pflueger, Architects Geo. Wagner cont. Date 6-11-31 No. 31." Negative shows the exterior of the Paramount under construction. The top portion of the building is still framed in wood with the cement wall underneath. A parking lot is next to the theatre with several cars parked there. On the sidewalk level is a small fence in the front of the parking lot with two movie posters- one for a Marion Davies movie and the other for a Joan Crawford movie. There is also a fence directly in front of the theatre blocking view of the construction on the ground level. A sign for Wagner Construction is on top of the fence and also a sign for the company building the theatre- Investment Properties Corporation.
