(CXR 2/96) Commonly called a "bed doll" or "french bed doll", but not necessarily made in France. Costumed in lounge pajamas of dark green silk with bloomers, blouse is yellow rayon, sleeves and vest are black silk sateen with 3 color (green, orange, red) hand-sewn ribbon trim. Sash is pale terra cotta crepe, body is pale peach sateen. Feet covered in black silk. Right shoe missing, left shoe is black sateen with 3-color ribbon trim. Cloche hat is black sateen with 3-color ribbon trim. Hair is blond, arranged in ram's horn braids. This doll was a "smoker", her left hand (which is missing) would have held a cigarette, which would have fit into her round mouth-hole.
