Content description:
a-e, 2 cast aluminum panels (larger size), large, stylized swag motif (art deco) moves horizontally across a vertical "folded" element (which some-what resembles a limp paper airplane), with a sunburst motif at the bottom, top edge is trimmed with a boarder of zig-zag with semi-circles in them; f-q, 12 cast aluminum panels (smaller size), same motif as a-e, slightly compressed because of the lack of width. Condition: very good. a-e: 44" x 75 1/2" x 5". f-q: 33" x 75 1/2" x 4". History: These panels were created by Jacob Berg, and were installed as exterior decoration, second floor level of the Gray Shop, which stood at the corner of 20th and Broadway in Oakland from 1931-1978. Remarks: Particularly fine examples of local Art Deco style architectural embellishments.
