Envelope reads "Hetch Hetchy Calaveras tunnel explosion 6/30." Photograph shows the entrance to a tunnel with a sign over it warning against smoking or carrying matches. In front of the entrance a group of approximately ten men stand looking into the opening. To the left of the frame a pipe protrudes vertically from the ground and to the right a control box of some sort can be seen.
