Photo is of an advertisement or a exhibition label in an exhibition. The sign says "GONZALES AEROPLANE NO. 1. The proud remains of the first of several airplanes & gliders built by the Gonzales Bros. of San Francisco in the years 1910-1912. Twins Willie & Arthur, assisted by brother Eddie, operated a flying school and offered courses in airplane building. Their airplanes and gliders were built in a shop behind their home at 435 16th Ave. in S.F. Glider flights were made at 18th Ave & Balboa St., and the airplanes were flown near Woodland Ca. Factory & operations were moved down to Los Angeles in 1915, but went out of business in the 1920s. Eddie Gonzales still lives in San Pedro Ca. His nephew, your exhibitor Bob Gonzales, of Concord Ca, brought home these bones that you are seeing, and all that remained of the drawings, pictures, news clippings etc. It must have been really something to see and hear in those days. The little kemp four banger turning that big wooden prop up front, as the airplane struggled bravely out over the almost empty endless fields of the Valley, on the 'Frontier of Aviation.'
