Other photos indicate that this is also taken on August 5, 1929, opening day for the new Capwell's building in Oakland. Photo shows the four men smiling and dressed in suits. Mayor Davie has a derby hat and coat tails. C.W. Steines is hired with Emporium in 1910. In 1911 he is the merchandise manager and in 1912 he is the director. In 1923 he is the general manager, and in 1927 he is made vice president of the Emporium Capwell Corporation. In 1928 he is president and in 1929 he retires. In 1930 C.W. Steines dies. Bruce Maiden is unknown. Look up Mayor Davie A.B.C. Dohrmann is the son of F.W. Dohrmann. He is elected vice president of the Emporium in 1914 after his father dies and his brother is made director. A.B.C. Dohrmann then becomes president in 1916 when Albert Dernham dies. In 1920 he organizes the executive committee in order to take no steps without the general approval of what he called the "composite mind". This is described in a historical pamphlet as meaning "a thorough selling of ideas and clarification of them before their execution." In 1928, A.B.C. Dohrmann is made chairman of the board and in 1929 he is made the president along with being the chairman of the board. In 1930 he was forced to take a 40% cut in pay which was not fully restored until 1935. He died December 28, 1936.
