Caption reads: "On the dot -- Burton Abbott arrived right on time today (see clock) in Judge Charles Wade Snook's courtroom for his 10 a.m. sentencing. The sentence was put off until next Friday. Abbott is flanked by attorneys Harold Hove (left) and Stanley Whitney." Abbott was eventually sentenced to die in the gas chamber at San Quentin. He was executed on March 15, 1957.
