A scattering of people is watching on each sides of the pair of tracks. [The scene is reminsicent of photos showing the arrival of the first transcontinental railroad in Oakland in late 1869 or early 1870 JM 12/19/2000] (D. Cooper, 7/2004) The transcontinental railroad arrived in Oakland Nov. 8, 1869.
