Original envelope read, "Democratic National Convention, 1920." Negative shows a man, possibly Franklin Roosevelt, standing on some stairs. Standing next to him but turned to her left is a woman wearing a coat with a fur stoll and a feather bedecked hat. Another young woman is standing below Roosevelt looking up at him. She is wearing a sweater tied at the waist over her dress and a close fitting hat. Another woman is standing behind them. The 1920 Democratic National Convention was held in San Francisco June 28 at the urging of President Woodrow Wilson. The party pledged ratification of the Treaty of Versailles and supported the League of Nations. The nominee was Governor James M. Cox of Ohio and Franklin D. Roosevelt, then assistant secretary of the navy, for vice-president. The Republican nominee was Warren G. Harding, who went on to win the election.
