The Tribune photo, dated June 24, 1937, has the following caption on the back "Ninety Metropolitan Oakland Boy Scouts sped to Washington, D.C. today, where they will join 27,000 others from three continents in the First National Boy Scouts Jamboree, which will open a 10-day session on June 20. The above photo shows part of the Oakland Council contingent waiting for theri train last night at Oakland station." The boys, wearing uniform shorts and shirts, and pith helmets, are posed in a loose grouping at the 16th and Wood Street station. The boys in front are peering down the track (several of the boys on them) for their train.
