Clipping on the back, "Sep. 7, 1960--EDDIE IN ACTION--Raider coach Eddie Erdelatz gestures and shouts instructions to his offensive unit during one of the Oakland grid team's recent exhibitions." Photo shows Erdelatz standing on the football field pointing with his right hand and yelling. He is wearing a suit jacket over a pair of trousers with the cuffs turned up and a pair of tennis shoes. A crowd of people are sitting in the bleachers in the background. From exhibition label: "Raider coach, Eddie Erdelatz, shouts instruction sto his offense during one of the team's 1960 games. Raiders' General Manager Chet Soda appointed the former St. Mary's College football standout as the first head coach of the Raiders. Erdelatz gained experience as a coach with the San Francisco 49ers in 1948-49 and as head coach of the Naval Academy from 1950-58. Erdelatz led the Raiders to a respectable 6-8 record in their inaugural season. However, humiliating shutouts (Houston Oilers 0-55m and San Diego Chargers 0-44) cost Erdelatz his job after the first two games of the 1961 season.
