The caption on the back reads "A "war baby" of the railroad is the vegetable room at the Oakland Pier, where vegetables are prepared for cooking before they go on the trains. This crew of women shells peas." The photo depicts four women getting peas from snow peas. They are all in uniform and they vary in age. In addition, each woman, in the vegetable room, have a pretty huge pile of snow peas in front of them. The term "railroad" removed from the Argus Category field for CSpace cleanup. The category term was possibly related to exhibition planning (DAP, 1/5/2014).
