Physical description:
This man's red sport coat was the official garment for men on the United States Olympic Team in 1984; it was worn for the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984 by the donor, Peter Lippett. At that time Lippett was Manager of the United States Olympic Rowing Team. Lippett has been very active on the United States Olympic Committee; check the donor file, or other Lippett donations for more Olympic material. The sport coat has an embroidered USA Olympic Team patch stitched to the left breast pocket; there are two patch pockets in the front, a single vent in the back; it fastens in the front with two buttons (gold colored metal with an Olympic theme:stars and rings) and three buttons on each cuff. The lining of the coat was made especially for the United States Olympic Team, patterned with the five Olympic rings and "USA".
