A large group of feisty Republicans awaits the arrival of Richard Nixon at San Francisco International Airport. The crowd is waiting on the tarmac, held back by a short chain-link fence. Many members of the crowd are holding signs, some of which read: "Hi Dick", "Stick with Dick", "Our pick is Dick", "Everyone's hollering for Dick", "Y[oung] R[epublicans]' voice, Nixon's our choice". On the other side of the fence, a small musical band plays, and a movable staircase waits to be moved into position to receive the Vice-President.
