They are protesting discriminatory hiring practices by the Oakland Tribune. Photos show a sit-in which blocks the driveway to the Oakland Tribune's loading docks. Protesters sit in front of the gate/chain link fence. Police officers and reporters stand around the area in front of the protesters. Two paddy wagons are stationed in the street. A large crowd of spectators watches from across the street. One photo shows an Oakland Tribune delivery truck as it is escorted out the gate by the police. A small "x" written with blue pen is marked on the front of the contact sheet.
