This is a detailed "sketch from observation to explain Report of Oct. 13, 1898. The drawing shows the property owned by the California Beet, Sugar & Refining Co.. The area is bounded on the west by the town of Valona, on the north by the town of Crockett, and on the east by land owned by Eckley and George W. McNear. The sketch shows Barrel and other springs, Elkhorn, Mount Pleasant, Chicken Ranch, Scanlan, and Young Canyons. Two tunnels are sketched, as well as the site of a proposed reservoir.
