Clipping on the back of the photo, "Apr. 19, 1959--Visitors to San Francisco after the April 18, 1906 earthquake and fire found streetcars converted into cottages for homeless." Photo shows the converted street cars parked on foundations in a line. Each is has wood shingles and the entire area is surrounded by a low picket fence. Between the first two cars is a laundary line with sheets drying on it. Coming up the street is a horse and wagon. Further down the street are homes, presumable not damaged in the earthquake. Printed from an original Doc Rogers negative.
