Tribune caption on the back, Sep. 13, 1960-- "Record crowd listens attentively as Richard Nixon speaks in San Francisco's Union Square... Some 40,000 persons were on hand to greet the Vice President at climax of nation-spanning campaign hop." Photo shows a huge crowd listening to Nixon who is standing on a platform behind a podium giving a speech. A fairly large section directly in front of the stage is for the press corps and then the general public is standing behind them.. There are also several scaffold structures where cameras are recording the event.
