Content description:
National Guard soldiers sail across the San Francisco Bay from Oakland with the Bay bridge and San Francisco skyline in clear view. Most of the soldiers wear helmets. Photo corrections have been made along the parameters of the image. Two clips have been taped to back. One clip's caption reads: "California National Guardsmen scanned the Bay Bridge and San Francisco shoreline on the ferry from Oakland yesterday. They were on their final pre-Japan embarkation ride after arriving here from Camp Cooke. They're members of 40th 'Sunburst' Division." Mar 30 1951 stamped to first clip. Second clip reads: "The Golden Gate--Symbol of Home, coming and going." Jun 16 1954 stamped to this clip. [This clip is misleading because it alludes to the Golden Gate bridge, though the photograph is clearly of the Bay Bridge.] There is no noted photographer anywhere on this photograph.
