One of the photo taken by Doc Rogers in the aftermath of the 1906 Earthquake in San Francisco. [We do not have his original negatives.] Handwritten on the back, "1906 Ruin of Mark Hopkins mansion, Calif. and Mason, S.F." Photo shows the remains of the large home. Only the chimney still standing while the rest of the house is completely demolished. The stairs leading up to the house and the decorative iron surrounding the yard are still in tack. People walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the ruin.
