The same information is also handwritten on the back. The photo shows a fireman and three or four other individuals lowering a stretcher off the Cypress Structure. Only the victims boots are visible and his legs are covered with a sheet. This was one of several photograph taken in the aftermath of the Quake which won the Oakland Tribune a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the event.
