One wreath is in the shape of an American flag and one is in the shape of a horse shoe. The flowers are to celebrate the opening of the new H.C. Capwell Co. store on Broadway and 20th in Downtown Oakland. The new building cost 10,000,000 dollars. On this, the opening day their are speeches by local dignitaries, band music, and 20,000 dollars worth of flowers banking Avenue C.
